Peaceful Forest ~ A scent for stress relief
In Japan, going for a therapeutic walk in the woods is known as shinrin-yoku, which means “taking in the atmosphere of the forest” This practice has recently been studied for its ability to ease stress
by Japan’s Kyoto University who sent 498 healthy volunteers on two 15 minute forest strolls, compared to a control day when they didn’t walk. Volunteers rated their mood on a standard psychological scale. Their hostility and depression scores decreased significantly after walking. What’s more, the more stressed out the volunteers were to begin with, the greater
the relaxation they experienced.
While most of us don’t have access to ancient Japanese pine forests, we can fake the same emotional effects by taking a stroll through a local Christmas tree farm or by using essential oils such as
balsam, fir, spruce or pine. Traditional aromatherapy recommends these foresty evergreen oils for soothing bumpy emotions and easing stress. Simply mist the air or on your pillow....Breathe in deeply and slowly, relax and visualize walking through a natural forest.
After reading this I researched to find the most natural forest scents and decided on this wonderful organic Black Spruce essential oil and then ordered the Hinoki (Japanese Cypress) straight from Japan. All you have to do is mist the air around you, close your eyes and imagine
your peaceful walk in the forest wherever you are.

Using Rosewater dates back to ancient times and has been used medicinally, nutritionally, and as a source of perfume. The ancient Greeks, Romans and Phoenecians considered large public rose gardens to be as important as croplands such as orchards and wheat fields.
Rose perfumes are made from rose oil, which is a mixture of essential oils obtained bysteam-distilling crushed rose petals, a process first developed in Persia. Rosewater is a by-product of this process and is mild and soothing to the skin and perfectly PH balanced.
